This is a revolutionary action by an artist who uses the Google Maps platform to create a new form of digital street art, intervening in virtual spaces with works that stimulate reflections and discussions on social, cultural and political issues.

Using digital graphics software, the artist creates graffiti and symbols that are then superimposed on the images of places deliberately identified for their peculiar values: places of exchange, famous landmarks, degraded urban areas, symbolic spaces. Once the work is inserted, the artist shares the link of the modified place on social media and other online platforms, inviting the public to explore and interact.

The virtual spaces of Google Maps thus become places of creative expression, art galleries accessible to anyone with an internet connection, where the main objective of the artist is to stimulate dialogue, as each graffiti or symbol created invites spectators to reflect and discuss contemporary issues. Finally included a new dialogue on Art and Technology, an open discussion on how Technology can be used to expand the frontiers of artistic expression.

Wi-rus:
The will and purposes of the Wi-rus action-work, spread in public places during the Covid-19 pandemic, are to derive meanings from what already exists. The artist declines the Wi-fi logo in Wi-rus and entrusts the equivocal narration to the power of signs: he splits them, makes them fascinating and simply complex. An iconic action of great topicality that takes the stage, appearing indifferently in train stations, in corridors, on carriages, on poles on the ground and on steps. A reassuring and threatening warning, revealing a deceptive ambiguity that erases the certainty of meanings to multiply the power of signs and the univocity of perception. In an unprecedented health crisis, uncertain science falters and conditions politics. Distrustful citizens show evident emotional reactions to the crisis, such as fear of the other, conspiracy theories, the construction of the enemy and anguish. In such a delicate moment for civilization, only the gaze of art can save us: a rational and deductive art, little given to dreams and deception, which can perceive all the ambiguous ambivalence and hypocritical duplicity of what is happening. On the other hand, dubious and false language is the pillar on which the infodemic rests but it is also one of the presuppositions of investigation of contemporary art, capable of distilling the conceptual lesson and, with lucid vision, of grasping scenarios with new meanings.

Xenos:
This is a site-specific work visible in the territories where migrants arrive and receive them. The project is the symbolic representation of the feeling that unites us towards the foreigner who arrives in our territories. The word “xenos” was used in Ancient Greece by Homer to mean divergent concepts such as “foreign enemy” and “ritual friend”. A fragile balance whose stability depends on our resilience, immigrating means bringing with you emotional states from your country of origin, contaminating the new environment that is destabilizing like a disease. The work interprets the Greek word in its double semantic ambiguity, re-proposing that conflict of feelings that affects contemporary society. The iconic message settles along real and imaginary border lines or neglected spaces, where needs and expectations collide, with the risk of subverting the order of coexistence.
