Smart Games

With the illustrations of the Smart Games corpus, starting from the one on the cover, I would like to lead you into a symbolic, sparkling and chromatic imaginary, following the thread of the game and continuously feeding the surprise effect that, in some cases, turns into disorientation and bewilderment. The graphic images that I have created in these years are the result of a creative and unusual practice, built and created on the Internet with the use of digital devices. It is a work of research and comparison focused on issues related to technological changes, born and grown on a virtual desk placed safely in the cloud, in which I have collected for a long time the ideas, the ideas and the texts necessary for the story of each individual work. This working method has allowed me to operate continuously in different conditions, proving to be effective and safe from different points of view, such as immediately fixing the idea or the creative spark, facilitating the search for material, immediately accessing the virtual desk where drawings, images and texts are always available together with rapid digital software functional to the genesis of the project. So a virtual work par excellence, native in language, founded on bits, in a cloud computing that can be accessed from anywhere and accumulated notes, considered dimensions and colors: an efficient process in consulting archives, selecting topics and threads according to a mental scheme of requests formulated in the form of questions to obtain details and analyses or images consistent with the project.

It is a working method that led me to the creation of this work, compiled by stitching together graphic fragments, descriptive notes and symbols, assembling material found on the net and royalty free clipart, images from other authors, varied and mixed. Thus, slowly, the final layout was gradually structured, defined by continuous total blacks and flat colors that are sometimes clear but also bright reds on silky grays, a chromatic amusement park where a narrative anthology came to life, intent on revealing the technological promises that have already come true and those to come. In addition to this, the collection of illustrations also reveals fun and caustic intentions, with ironic and mocking contents and represents my personal reflection on the world of the web and the resulting cultural transformations. Each work tells a story, where we ourselves are protagonists together with the world around us, participants in the epochal change, disclosed in many of the themes addressed: psychoanalytic investigations and symbolic syntheses, myths and technological addiction, protagonism and spectacularization of life. culturali. Ogni elaborato racconta una storia, dove noi stessi siamo protagonisti insieme al mondo che ci circonda, partecipi al cambiamento epocale, divulgato in molti dei temi affrontati: indagini psicoanalitiche e sintesi simboliche, miti e assuefazione tecnologica, protagonismo e spettacolarizzazione della vita.
